    Dexis is seeking an experienced Program Technical Specialist to provide support services to the US Agency for International Development’s Asia Bureau. Specifically, the Program Technical Specialist will directly support the Asia Bureau’s Office of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCAA). The work location for this position will be in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position. This is a short-term position, for up to one year. The start date for this position is immediate.



    • Provide programmatic technical support and assistance on country and regional programs, taking into account Agency guidelines, Congressional and Bureau priorities, and country and Agency needs
    • As directed, develop and perform analysis on economic/political/social issues in the South and Central Asia (SCA) countries/region and inform Bureau and Agency leadership – through appropriate channels – of significant developments.
    • Stay abreast of Washington DC events as they pertain to development in South and Central Asia and attend and represent USAID at events of relevance to SCAA’s work.
    • Assist the Office Director and Office Deputy Director to develop draft testimony for Congressional hearings, talking points, and speeches for review
    • Assist with the preparation, editing, and revising of annual and congressionally-mandated reports, including researching country programs, budgets, and drafting and editing sections and charts
    • Draft briefing papers, memoranda, background statements, talking points, and other USAID reporting documents supporting activity or program information as requested and instructed by SCAA Office Director or Bureau Front Office.
    • Assume responsibility for tracking these documents and shepherding them through the approval process, including intra- and interagency clearances.
    • Support SCAA staff on compilation, analysis, and reporting on program budgets to the Asia Assistant Administrator’s Office, other offices, State counterparts, etc., keeping in mind USAID Agency, Bureau, interagency, and country priorities and tradeoffs
    • As directed by the Director, Deputy Director, or the desk officers, and in collaboration with the Bureau Outreach Team, the Missions, and the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs, draft responses to and track inquiries from the general public, media, and other sources about USAID/ASIA programs and projects
    • In collaboration with the Bureau Outreach Team, draft general presentations and information products on USAID/ASIA programs and activities, including program and project fact sheets, presentations, brochures, flyers, newsletters, etc., as well as talking points to accompany presentations
    • Perform administrative tasks specifically associated with portfolio or as assigned such as advising and scheduling consultations for incoming mission staff , providing logistical support for program/project-related activities, maintain Create and maintain a variety of program and correspondence files, both electronic and hardcopy, including maintaining awareness of Agency record-keeping guidance and requirements to ensure SCAA compliance
    • Develop and maintain contacts with external and internal stakeholders
    • Follow up with Administrative and Management Services (AMS) to assist with the onboarding and training of new or temporary staff (building and office orientation, workspace assignment, phone and computer setup, appointment scheduling, and other administrative and logistical support as appropriate and as needed)


    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field, (e.g., international development/relations, public administration) and 4 years of professional experience or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field and 6 years of professional experience required.
    • Active secret-level security clearance required.
    • Experience with office technology and software with high proficiency (including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and database management preferred)
    • Knowledge of USAID and/or US Government administrative procedures preferred.
    • Experience with project management and/or international development, administrative and financial procedures.
