About the Position

DPS is hiring for a Procurement Specialist to support a contract with the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, Acquisitions Office. The purpose of this contract is to provide acquisition and procurement support, including assembling procurement packages, conducting market research, submitting invoice payments, and tracking and monitoring new contracts.

 

This position is based in Washington, DC and requires an active SECRET clearance. The start date is contingent upon award.   

Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Provide assistance to the Program Managers and CORs with compiling and submitting a complete procurement package to the contracting Officer (CO) in Enterprise Services- Acquisitions (ES-A).
  • Sending contract intake form to collect procurement need
  • Assist with Statement of Work (SOW) or Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  • Collecting requirements
  • Provide guidance on best procurement practice. Determine is IDIG, Firm fixed price or other contract vehicles are appropriate to save the government money and time.
  • Conduct/ assist with market research to complete the IGCE
  • Obtain the proper signatures for the 508 and I.T checklist.
  • Send complete procurement package to ES-A
  • Continuously monitor the Procurement inbox for correspondence
  • Update tracker on a weekly basis
  • Assure invoice are paid within the rules regulation and police of the FAR.
  • Input Procurement request into contracting system- comprizion/ C-request
  • Work in conjunction with the Personnel security and Human Resource for onboarding and out-boarding of contractor support
  • Submit weekly report on activities within the Acquisition office.

Qualifications

The Procurement Specialist must have the following qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 4 years of experience in federal procurement and acquisition support.
  • Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Qualifications commensurate to DAWIA or FAC-C Level II in contracting.
  • Knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Small Business Socio-Economic statutes and specialized contracting methodologies including Strategic Sourcing initiatives and the use of Delivery Order / Task Order contracting.
