Dexis Consulting Group is recruiting an Open Governance Specialist for an upcoming USAID project focused on facilitating a productive relationship between civil society and the Government of Tunisia, focusing on 3 of the 5 main roles of civil society in a middle-income, democratic country: 1) advocacy/ campaigner (for example advocating for changes in existing laws to facilitate reforms), 2) watchdog (for example, monitoring of reforms and human rights issues), and 3) participant in global governance processes.
The Open Governance Specialist will provide overall technical direction regarding Tunisia’s participation in global governance processes (for example, the open government partnership standards, advisory boards of investment funds, etc.).
S/he will collaborate closely with a wide range of Tunisian government and civil society organizations (CSOs) to further the principles of open governance: that an open government is more accessible, more responsive, and more accountable to citizens, and that improving the relationship between people and their government has long-term, exponential benefits for everyone.
This will include work at the national and local levels with government, civil society, and the private sector, to engage directly on issues of common importance, to make commitments on reforms, and to advocate that those reforms happen.
This position will be based in Tunis, Tunisia and is contingent upon award. Local nationals are encouraged to apply.
