About the Position

Dexis is seeking a Project Manager to work with the Global Health Technical Assistance and Mission Support (GH-TAMS) project team in Washington, DC. GH-TAMS, a five-year contract funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), provides USAID operating units working on health-related activities in headquarters and the field with access to high-quality technical, management, and USAID expertise to support health programs. GH-TAMS assists GH and missions with this expertise through short- and medium-term consultant services, supporting USAID’s global health strategic priorities: 1) Preventing child and maternal deaths; 2) Controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic; and 3) Combating infectious diseases.


This is a surge support position and is intended to provide coverage for planned leave for five to six months.



The Project Manager will manage logistics and assignment procedures for GH-TAMS assignments. Specifically, the Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks and activities:

  • Manage the assignment planning process, including refining scopes of work (SOWs) and cost estimates, developing implementation timelines, etc.
  • Responsible for all logistical support for consultants and GH-TAMS teams both in the United States and overseas.
  • Provide technical input for select contract deliverables including ensuring quality control and oversight for assignment report content, preparation, and production.
  • Ensure necessary USAID approvals are obtained in a timely manner by preparing official letters and notifications to USAID clients other key stakeholders.
  • Participate and/or chair team-wide meetings and initiatives.
  • Promote integration and cross-fertilization of ideas and information across assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.




Minimum Requirements:

  • MPA, MPH, MA or similar degree in international development and/or health preferred.
  • At least two years of work experience in managing international health programs or projects.
  • Knowledge of international public health and development issues.
  • Must be a team player and work well in groups.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Must work well with minimum supervision and flexibility.
  • Proactive in anticipating work requirements and problem solving.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required. Fluency in another language highly desired.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience and/or familiarity with international development preferred, with 1-2 years of overseas experience.
  • Oral and written fluency in another language desired.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent skills in teamwork and interpersonal communication.
